Welcome
friend, to my
Songs For Scott website.
My name is Mark Kalbfleisch and through this
portal I can explain a little bit about myself and my cause.
My goal is
to try and raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis, support
those afflicted with MS, and help the funding in the quest
for a cure.
By
purchasing the music CD, I Believe in You,
that I have produced, you can assist in these goals.

For years now
maybe 18 or so as either a form of relaxation, therapy or simply
enjoyment, one of my escapes has been found by writing words &
music. I would also play some of my songs on our piano for my late
wife Kelly, my son Scott and daughter Liana. Scott and Liana would
often say to me that I needed to record some of my songs and I would
reply as if it would never happen not thinking that it actually
would some day. I have now decided this is the appropriate time.
The reasons being three-fold: |
|
1 This is
something I am giving to myself. I am rewarding myself with a wish
I have and it is something I recommend to you all. Reward yourself
with one huge thing in life you have wished for.
2 My children have
also asked me to do this and given me that little push and extra
incentive and drive that was needed.
3 I have
experienced some difficult times. I lost my first wife Karen
Kalbfleisch ( nee ) Douglas Crampton to an aneurysm and she died
suddenly on December 3, 1990. I also lost my second wife Kelly (
Kalypso ) Kalbfleisch ( nee ) Theocharis - to Leiomyosarcoma (
muscle tissue Cancer ) on January 25, 2008. Finally, my son Scott
has Multiple Sclerosis ( MS ) - diagnosed in 1996 at 8 years of
age. My two lovely wives were the most unselfish people who you
could ever meet. It is my wish and I know it would be theirs as
well, that net proceeds from any sales of this CD go to try and
raise awareness, assistance and a cure for MS. Therefore this is
what will occur and is the entire thrust of my motivation in the
making and selling of this CD |
People who are
affected by these types of events in their lives often try and give
back to a cause in some form or another. Some hold walks, dances,
dinner events etc. By me sharing my music with you, I am taking
care of myself by staying active and participating in one of my
passions, but at the same time it is satisfying another one of my
needs and requirements of giving back to a cause that affects my son
directly and our family very deeply, along with all of those touched
by this disease.
